Text-message research pilot
Child Mind Institute is a nonprofit children's mental health organization. This page describes a text-message conversation study being piloted to test whether an automated interviewer works reliably before any research data is collected.
What participants do
Participants are recruited through the Prolific research platform. Each participant is given a short written persona describing a fictional parent and child, and is asked to answer a standardized mental health screening questionnaire in character. No participant is asked about their own child or their own mental health.
How it works
After reading the study information and agreeing to take part, a participant is shown the study number +1 (507) 431-7807 together with a one-time code, and texts that code from their own phone to begin. Every conversation is started by the participant. We never message a number that has not messaged us first.
